What is Microsoft TEAMS? 

 

Microsoft Teams is the digital hub that brings conversations, content, assignments, and apps together in one place. Promote equity and student voice with collaborative classrooms, connect in professional learning communities, and communicate with staff - all from a single experience in Office 365 Education. 

 
Task 1: Experience Teams as a Student

Task 2: Create a Team and Add Students

Participants will work with a partner to complete the following tasks. Each person will complete the task.

Participants will work with a partner to complete the following tasks. Each person will complete the task 

Manage Team Settings

  • Discuss with your partner which settings will be best for your class 
    • Will you mute all members? 
    • Will you only allow teacher to create post? 
  • Select desired settings for the class 
  • Notice the TEAM Code option- students can join the team with this code 
Task 4: Assignments, Feedback and Post Grades

Participants will work with a partner to complete the following tasks. Each person will complete the task. 

Assignments 

  • Watch the video- TEAMS Assignments

  • Create a sample assignment for the student to complete. Example: Research Project Topic 
    • Specify what the students will turn-in (Word document) 
    • Add detailed directions 
    • Give the assignment a value of 100 points 
    • Allow late turn-in 
    • Do you want to add a Rubric?  Notice the rubric option. 

Note: You can add assignments to multiple teams by selecting the two boxes to the right.  All of your Teams will appear. Select each TEAM that needs the assignment  

 

 

Complete an Assignment 

  • Open the assignment your partner created 
  • Complete the assignment and submit it so your partner can add feedback and grade 

 

Feedback 

View Feedback as Student 

  • Check the Assignment after your partner adds feedback and points and POSTS
