ION Information: Grade 7

We will be using Canva to design a variety of items. I am excited to work with you on these different items and hope that you will be too!

1st: we need an introduction to a few of the basics and then you'll know what my expectations are for each of you. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be our "ION  DAYS" and Thursday will be intervention or study hall.

I will add what you need to this page as we embark on these next three weeks together! Some things will be via paper copies, and then working parts will be digital. Therefore if you are absent one day (or more), you will know what we did and what you need to do to complete our Creative Design Choice Course.
Below you will find some of the basic information we need to begin designing in Canva.
Day 1:
Intro to our plan, watching Canva How To Videos and then getting into Canva to decide what you will create first (Wall Mural or All About Me) REMEMBER: if you are going to use your photos, email those to your school email so that you can download them for Canva. Otherwise you will use the images already in Canva to choose from when creating your designs.
Day 2:
We are working on our first design, check your email to see what I sent you. =)
You need to be finalizing your first design activity.

Day 3:
Rubric will be introduced for you to assess a peer's design (it will include our design tips on back). Below you will see a Design Elements Infographic and the link to those elements for you to view in order to understand how to use our Rubric for critiquing a peer's work.
Day 4:
Today we will look at example yearbooks together to identify key parts of a yearbook. Students will begin working on their first focus which will be a YEARBOOK COVER. You will need to have a school name and year along with your theme chosen. This theme will be seen in the pages you create in the following days. Below is a link to creating a yearbook using Canva that will help you as you begin developing your focus portions for the remainder of this course.
