Rutherford County Schools
Congratulations to Rocky Fork Middle’s Marian Fleener on being named Rutherford County Schools’ Middle Level Teacher of the Year!

In addition to Rocky Fork, Fleener has also served in roles at Rock Springs Middle School and Smyrna Primary School. Fleener has earned degrees from Carson Newman University, Georgetown College and University of Kentucky.
As the RCS district-level winner, Fleener will compete at the regional level for the state Department of Education’s annual award. To qualify for Tennessee Teacher of the Year, candidates must have been teaching full-time for at least three years, have a track record of exceptional gains in student learning, and be effective school and community leaders according to the state's criteria.
